excellent service

This is one of my most favorite things in my home. It hangs in the kitchen above the pantry door. I got it at a cute little boutique in Nashville when we lived there. It is a good reminder to our entire family of how important it is to give, not just service but EXCELLENT service. I hope that we teach our children this through example and by word. And hopefully this sign can be a constant reminder.
Here are a couple of cute examples of service that my daughters recently did for their dad.
For Todd's birthday, Brenna and Emma Grace decided to wash his truck for him. They surprised him and they did a great job! They were so proud of themselves.
(the note says, "you need them more than me")
Todd was sick with a terrible flu for about 5 days. On the first or second day when it was really bad, Brenna put these blankets and this note on Todd's bed. How sweet and thoughtful is that?
We are a total "blanket" kind of family. Charlie sleeps with a small blanket on each side of his head. Brenna piles blankets all over her bed. I sleep with the same blanket that my mom gave me when I went of to college{you should see it...oh my...it has been very well loved and Todd has grown to love it too}. The quilt in the picture is the one I made for Brenna for her baptism as a reminder of the Gift of the Holy Ghost {that the Holy Ghost can comfort us}.
