Megan, our sweet babysitter of the past 4 1/2 years has turned 16. She went on her first date on Friday night. My girls couldn't believe it. All week, out of the blue, one of them would say, "I can't believe Megan is going on a date. It seemed as if they were a little jealous that now her Friday nights with them might be taken over by some gross boy. To celebrate her first date, we took a little surprise to her just a little bit before the date. We put together a "dating survival kit". I decorated a box to put everything in and here is a list of what we included...
)dental floss picks...nothing worse than discovering something stuck in your teeth after a date.
)pretend cell phone...remember your parents are always just a phone call away.
)wig and disguise...the escape route...you don't like your date...you go into the bathroom, put on the disguise and get out of there.
)doorbell(button)...push the button to get rid of your date if he's being a goof ball.
)gasX...what if he takes you out for Mexican food?
)crown...don't ever let your date forget who he is with...a daughter of a King (Heavenly Father.
)stuffed toy monster...be sure to be home by 11:00(curfew)...that's when all the monsters come out.
)joke book...for when the conversation lags.
9) (Todd did this one) conversation flow chart...It was really funny! It gave questions that Megan could ask a date and two answers for each question. A good answer led to the next question and a bad answer led to Megan responding "Can you take me home now?"
